Explicit arguments

Explicit arguments

It means to state them clearly. Here, The writer is including himself through the first person and certain beliefs or arguments such as:  true versus false, for versus against, these beliefs are imposed by him and will depend upon his intention.

Linguistic signals of explicit arguments are:

  • I think
  • Personally
  • In my opinion
  • I believe
  • To me
  • My guess
  • In our studies
  • I suppose
  • To myself
  • One considers...
  • We agree
  • To my view
  • One may expect...
  • I'm keeping my hopes up for...
  • One might think...,
  • I strongly believe...,
  • The way I see it...
  • To make myself clear...,
  • To illustrate my point...
  • It seems to me, to us, to ourselves, etc.
